A tired guest came to my desk.
Um hóspede cansado veio ao meu balcão.
He wanted his room key.
Ele queria a chave do quarto.
But the room was not clean yet.
Mas o quarto ainda não estava limpo.
I said, "I am so sorry for the wait."
Eu disse: "Sinto muito pela espera."
His face showed deep tiredness.
O rosto dele mostrava muito cansaço.
I asked, "While you wait, may I offer coffee?"
Perguntei: "Enquanto espera, posso oferecer um café?"
He nodded without a word.
Ele assentiu sem dizer uma palavra.
I brought him a warm cup.
Trouxe-lhe uma xícara quente.
Then I promised, "I will personally let you know the moment it is ready."
Então prometi: "Vou avisar pessoalmente assim que estiver pronto."
He gave a small, weak smile.
Ele deu um sorriso pequeno e fraco.
I felt sorry for him.
Senti pena dele.
I learned to be kind first.
