Last night, I wanted to ask a question.
Tadi malam, aku ingin bertanya.
My hand stayed on the table.
Tanganku tetap di atas meja.
My mouth felt heavy and dry.
Mulutku terasa berat dan kering.
But the question was important to me.
Tapi pertanyaan itu penting bagiku.
So I took a small sip of water.
Jadi aku minum air sedikit.
Then I spoke, my voice a bit low.
Lalu aku bicara, suaraku agak pelan.
The room went quiet, but not cold.
Ruangan jadi hening, tapi tidak dingin.
People turned and listened to me.
Orang-orang menoleh dan mendengarkanku.
My question was simple and honest.
Pertanyaanku sederhana dan jujur.
After that, the air felt lighter.
Setelah itu, udara terasa lebih ringan.
I learned that asking is a gift.
Aku belajar bahwa bertanya itu hadiah.
It opens doors we cannot see.
Itu membuka pintu yang tak terlihat.
