Our policy does not allow refunds after 30 days.
当社の方針では、30日を過ぎると返金できません。
I knew this news would make her unhappy.
この知らせが彼女を不機嫌にすると分かっていました。
I took a deep breath and started to speak.
深呼吸して、話し始めました。
I said, 'I wish I had better news for you.'
「もっといい知らせを伝えられればいいのですが」と言いました。
Then I explained the policy in simple words.
それから、方針を簡単な言葉で説明しました。
I added, 'Here is what I can do instead.'
「代わりにできることはこれです」と付け加えました。
I offered her a store credit or a free exchange.
ストアクレジットか無料交換を提案しました。
She still felt upset, and I understood that.
彼女はまだ怒っていましたが、私には理解できました。
I said, 'I know that is frustrating.'
「それが不満なのは分かります」と言いました。
I gave her time to talk about her feelings.
彼女が気持ちを話す時間を与えました。
In the end, she accepted the store credit.
結局、彼女はストアクレジットを受け入れました。
