I remember the first time I spoke English to a stranger.
我记得第一次对陌生人说英语的时候。
My hands were cold.
我的手是冰凉的。
My voice was thin.
我的声音很轻。
I said “hello” and waited.
我说了“你好”，然后等着。
The stranger smiled back.
那个陌生人对我笑了笑。
That smile was enough.
那个微笑就够了。
I felt a little braver.
我感觉胆子大了一点。
I said one more word.
我又多说了一个词。
Then another.
然后又多说了一个。
The conversation was short.
那次对话很短。
But it was real.
但它是真实的。
A real connection.
