I called my mom after the doctor visit.
診察の後、母に電話をしました。
She asked, “What did the doctor say?”
彼女は「先生は何て言ったの？」と聞きました。
I took a breath and started slowly.
息を吸って、ゆっくり話し始めました。
“Here is where things stand,” I said.
「今の状況はこうです」と言いました。
I explained the test results honestly.
検査結果を正直に説明しました。
But I also told her what we were watching for.
でも、私たちが注意していることも伝えました。
She got quiet, so I paused.
彼女が黙ったので、間を置きました。
“You can ask me anything,” I added softly.
「何でも聞いていいよ」と優しく付け加えました。
She asked a few simple questions.
彼女はいくつか簡単な質問をしました。
I answered each one with care.
一つ一つ丁寧に答えました。
By the end, her voice sounded lighter.
最後には、彼女の声が軽くなっていました。
I think honesty made her feel safer.
正直に話したことで、彼女は安心したと思います。
