आज रेडियो पर एक गाना सुना।
It was an old piano tune.
वह एक पुरानी पियानो धुन थी।
The music took me back five years.
संगीत मुझे पाँच साल पीछे ले गया।
I was in a hotel lobby then.
तब मैं एक होटल की लॉबी में था।
The song played while I waited.
जब मैं इंतज़ार कर रहा था तब यह गाना बज रहा था।
I was waiting for a job interview.
मैं एक नौकरी के इंटरव्यू का इंतज़ार कर रहा था।
That job never came through.
वह नौकरी कभी नहीं मिली।
But I still remember the song.
लेकिन मुझे अब भी वह गाना याद है।
It felt like hope and sadness together.
यह उम्मीद और उदासी दोनों जैसा लगा।
Now the song makes me quiet.
अब यह गाना मुझे खामोश कर देता है।
I think about who I was.
मैं सोचता हूँ कि मैं तब कौन था।
Some memories never leave us.
