I watched the last leaf fall tonight.
Vi caer la última hoja esta noche.
It took a long time to let go.
Tardó mucho en soltarse.
I felt a strange sadness in my chest.

That leaf held on through many storms.

But now the branch is bare.

Maybe I am like that leaf sometimes.

I hold on to things past their time.

Letting go is hard, but necessary.

The tree knows when to release.

It trusts the winter and the spring.

I want to learn that trust.
