The house is dark when I wake up.
जब मैं उठता हूँ तो घर अंधेरा होता है।
I walk to the kitchen without turning on a light.
बिना लाइट जलाए मैं रसोई में जाता हूँ।
The coffee maker clicks and begins to hiss.
कॉफी मशीन क्लिक करती है और फुफकारने लगती है।
That sound means the day has started.
उस आवाज़ का मतलब है दिन शुरू हो गया।
I pour the hot liquid into my favorite cup.
गर्म पेय को अपने पसंदीदा कप में डालता हूँ।
The cup is blue with a small crack on the rim.
कप नीला है और उसके किनारे पर एक छोटी दरार है।
I hold it with both hands and feel the warmth.
मैं इसे दोनों हाथों से पकड़ता हूँ और गर्माहट महसूस करता हूँ।
The smell of fresh coffee fills the kitchen.

I take the first sip and it is bitter but good.

The world outside is still sleeping.

But here, in my kitchen, I am wide awake.
