I carried a lie for a long time.

It felt heavy inside my chest.

Every day I held it tight.

I was afraid to let it go.

But yesterday I finally spoke the truth.

My voice felt strange at first.

Then the words came out easily.
Depois as palavras saíram com facilidade.
I watched the other person's face.
Observei o rosto da outra pessoa.
They looked surprised but kind.
Eles pareciam surpresos, mas gentis.
The silence after was not scary.
O silêncio depois não foi assustador.
It felt like a deep breath.
Pareceu uma respiração profunda.
The lie is gone now.
A mentira se foi agora.
