A Parent Meeting: Sharing Both the Good and the Tricky

I met with a parent about her child's progress.

I wanted to share both the good and the tricky.

First, I praised the child's effort in class.

Then I mentioned the difficulty with focus.

I said, 'At home, it might help to set a routine.'

I explained why we need to work together.

I reminded her, 'We are on the same team here.'

She felt heard and less worried.

We agreed to check in again next month.
