The words came out slowly but clear.
As palavras saíram devagar, mas claras.
The seller answered in gentle English.
O vendedor respondeu num inglês suave.
We managed to understand each other.
Conseguimos nos entender.
I bought the scarf and felt proud.
Comprei o cachecol e me senti orgulhosa.
That small talk was a big step.
