A student came to me after class.

She failed the math test badly.
她数学考得很差。
Her eyes were red from crying.
她的眼睛哭红了。
I said, 'This does not define you.'

Then I asked her to sit down.

We looked at the test together.
我们一起看了试卷。
I said, 'Let us look at what we can fix.'

She pointed to one hard part.
她指了一个难点。
I said, 'I have seen you do hard things.'
我说：“我见过你做很难的事。”
She smiled a little then.
她那时微微笑了。
We made a small plan for next week.
我们做了下周的小计划。
She left looking more hopeful.
