My shift ended at seven tonight.
आज मेरी शिफ्ट सात बजे खत्म हुई।
I walked home in the cool air.
मैं ठंडी हवा में घर चला आया।
Now I sit with a worn paperback.
अब मैं एक पुरानी किताब लेकर बैठा हूँ।
Its pages are soft from use.
इसके पन्ने पढ़ने से नरम हो गए हैं।
I read about a doctor in the mountains.
मैं पहाड़ों में एक डॉक्टर के बारे में पढ़ रहा हूँ।
Her clinic is small and cold.
उसका क्लिनिक छोटा और ठंडा है।
But her patients trust her deeply.
लेकिन उसके मरीज़ उस पर गहरा भरोसा करते हैं।
I sip tea and turn a page.
मैं चाय पीता हूँ और पन्ना पलटता हूँ।
The story takes me far away.
कहानी मुझे बहुत दूर ले जाती है।
My tired feet do not matter now.
अब मेरे थके हुए पैरों से कोई फ़र्क नहीं पड़ता।
I forget the long hours today.
मैं आज के लंबे घंटे भूल जाता हूँ।
Tomorrow I will be fresh again.
कल मैं फिर से तरोताज़ा हो जाऊँगा।
