Project Kickoff: Everyone Leaves Knowing the Goal

Last week I led a project kickoff meeting.

We had a new project with many moving parts.

I wanted everyone to leave with a clear goal.

I started by saying, "The one thing we want to achieve is..."

Then I asked the team for their input.

We discussed what success looked like.

I said, "By the end, success looks like..."

We wrote down three clear outcomes.

Then I asked, "Who owns what?"

Each person named their main task.

We left the meeting with shared understanding.

Everyone knew the goal and their part.
