Tonight I remember my first English hello.
오늘 밤, 내 첫 영어 인사를 기억해요.
It was at a work event last spring.
지난 봄, 회사 행사에서였어요.
My hands were cold and my voice shook.
손은 차갑고 목소리는 떨렸죠.
I said 'Hi, I'm Mina' to a tall visitor.
키 큰 방문객에게 '안녕하세요, 미나예요'라고 말했어요.
He smiled and asked where I was from.
그가 웃으며 어디서 왔는지 물었어요.
I told him Seoul, and my heart raced.
서울이라고 말했는데, 심장이 뛰었어요.
But the conversation flowed like a small river.
그런데 대화는 작은 강처럼 흘러갔어요.
We talked about food, weather, and our jobs.
음식, 날씨, 그리고 일에 대해 이야기했죠.
I made mistakes, but he did not care.
실수도 했지만, 그는 신경 쓰지 않았어요.
That night, I felt a new kind of brave.
그날 밤, 새로운 용기를 느꼈어요.
Each hello since has been a little easier.
그 후로는 인사할 때마다 조금씩 쉬워졌어요.
The first step is the hardest, and I took it.
첫걸음이 제일 어려운데, 나는 그걸 내디뎠어요.
