Last week I had to update my team on our project.

We were behind schedule, but not by much.

I decided to send a short message early.

I wrote: “A quick heads-up that we are on track for Friday.”

But I knew Friday was not realistic.

So I added: “Realistically that lands by Monday.”

Then I promised, “I will keep you posted this week.”

My manager replied with a simple “Thanks.”

No one panicked or asked for more details.

I think setting clear timing avoided confusion.

Next time, I will do the same early.
