Tonight I planted a small seed.
今夜、小さな種を植えた。
It sits under soil, out of sight.
土の中に埋まって、見えないところにある。
I cannot see it change tonight.
今夜、それが変わるのを見ることはできない。
But I trust the dark holds it.
でも、闇がそれを守っていると信じる。
My work feels like that sometimes.
私の仕事も、時々そんなふうに感じる。
I push effort into something small.
小さな何かに努力を注ぎ込む。
Results stay hidden for many days.
成果は何日も隠れたままだ。
I water it with patient habits.
忍耐強い習慣で水をやる。
I give it sunlight through practice.
練習を通して日光を与える。
Growth makes no noise at all.
成長は、まったく音を立てない。
One day a green shoot appears.
ある日、緑の芽が現れる。
I will be there when it does.
その時、私はそこにいるだろう。
