The night air carries a warm, spicy smell.
밤 공기에 따뜻하고 매콤한 냄새가 실려 온다.
It comes from the food cart on the corner.
그 냄새는 모퉁이에 있는 포장마차에서 나온다.
My day at work ended an hour ago.
퇴근한 지 한 시간이 지났다.
But my feet stop when I smell that smoke.
그 연기 냄새를 맡으면 발이 멈춘다.
I think of the people cooking with speed.
재빠르게 요리하는 사람들이 떠오른다.
Each order is a small, quick dance.
주문 하나하나는 작고 빠른 춤과 같다.
Tonight I want to join that lively rhythm.
오늘 밤은 그 활기찬 리듬에 끼고 싶다.
So I walk up and ask for one thing.
그래서 걸어가서 하나를 주문한다.
The vendor nods, hands moving fast.
주인은 고개를 끄덕이며 손을 빠르게 움직인다.
I wait, watching the oil sizzle and pop.
기름이 지글거리는 걸 보며 기다린다.
When it arrives, it's hot and crisp.
받은 음식은 뜨겁고 바삭하다.
Each bite wakes up my tired body.
한 입 베어 물면 피곤한 몸이 깨어난다.
