I called my mom after work.
仕事が終わって母に電話した。

She sounded worried on the phone.
電話での母の声は心配そうだった。
I told her, here is where things stand.
「今の状況はこうだよ」と伝えた。
I explained the mistake simply.
ミスを簡単に説明した。
I said what we are watching for is the fix.
「注目しているのは修正だ」と言った。
I didn't hide the problem.
問題を隠さなかった。
Honesty felt better than silence.
黙っているより正直でいるほうが良かった。
Mom asked a few simple questions.
母はいくつか簡単な質問をした。
I said, you can ask me anything.
「何でも聞いていいよ」と言った。
After the call, I felt lighter.
電話の後、気持ちが軽くなった。
Being open helped us both.
