Two teammates disagreed about the project deadline.
Dos compañeros no estaban de acuerdo sobre la fecha límite del proyecto.
One wanted to ship early, the other needed more time.
Uno quería entregar pronto, el otro necesitaba más tiempo.
I felt nervous because I had to help them decide.
Me sentí nervioso porque tenía que ayudarles a decidir.
I listened to each one without taking sides.
Escuché a cada uno sin tomar partido.
I said, "I hear both sides, and both make sense."
Dije: "Entiendo ambos lados, y ambos tienen sentido."
Then I asked, "What if we tried a middle date?"
Luego pregunté: "¿Qué tal si probamos una fecha intermedia?"
They looked at each other and thought for a bit.
Se miraron y pensaron un momento.
The one who wanted early agreed to move the date.
El que quería pronto aceptó mover la fecha.
The other said it was fair and more realistic.
El otro dijo que era justo y más realista.
I asked, "Can we both live with that?"
Pregunté: "¿Podemos ambos vivir con eso?"
They both nodded, and I felt relief.
Ambos asintieron, y sentí alivio.
