I made a mistake on the data report.
Cometí un error en el informe de datos.
I told my manager right away.
Se lo dije a mi jefe de inmediato.
I said, “A quick heads-up that I need more time.”
Dije: “Un aviso rápido de que necesito más tiempo”.
Then I explained what went wrong.
Luego expliqué lo que salió mal.
I told her, “We are on track for Friday.”
Le dije: “Estamos en camino para el viernes”.
But I added, “Realistically that lands by Monday.”
Pero agregué: “Realísticamente eso llega para el lunes”.
She nodded and said it was fine.
Ella asintió y dijo que estaba bien.
I felt relieved I was honest.
Me sentí aliviado de haber sido honesto.
Promising Monday gave us room.
Prometer el lunes nos dio margen.
I also said, “I will keep you posted.”
También dije: “Te mantendré al tanto”.
That small update built trust.
Esa pequeña actualización generó confianza.
Now I always set clear expectations.
Ahora siempre establezco expectativas claras.
