I wake up before sunrise on my last day.

The room is still dark and cool.
La habitación sigue oscura y fresca.
I listen to the soft hum of the fan.

My suitcase lies open on the floor.
Mi maleta está abierta en el suelo.
I packed most things last night.

Now there is only a small gap left.
Ahora solo queda un pequeño espacio vacío.
That gap feels like the trip itself.
Ese espacio se siente como el viaje mismo.
It will close when I zip the bag.

I want to keep it open a bit longer.

I walk to the window and open it.

The street smells like bread and wet stones.
