I got my first paycheck last month.

I looked at the number for a long time.

It was not a lot of money.

But it was mine.

I felt proud and sad at the same time.
자랑스럽고 슬펐어요.
Proud because I worked for it.
자랑스러운 이유는 일해서 받았기 때문이에요.
Sad because it felt like a trade.
슬픈 이유는 교환 같았기 때문이에요.
I traded my time for money.
시간을 돈으로 바꿨어요.
I bought a train ticket to the coast.
해안 가는 기차표를 샀어요.
I wanted to see the ocean alone.
혼자 바다를 보고 싶었어요.
The water was gray and quiet.
물은 회색이고 조용했어요.
I sat there and thought about time.
거기 앉아서 시간에 대해 생각했어요.
