Last week I presented my plan to the leaders.
La semana pasada presenté mi plan a los líderes.
I was nervous, but I had practiced a lot.

They asked many hard questions about costs.

One leader asked if we could save more money.

I said, “Great question — here is how we thought about it.”
Dije: “Buena pregunta: así es como lo pensamos”.
I showed our numbers and explained the trade-offs.
Mostré nuestros números y expliqué las disyuntivas.
Another question was about timing.
Otra pregunta fue sobre los tiempos.
I did not know the answer right away.
No sabía la respuesta de inmediato.
So I said, “Let me come back to you on that.”
Entonces dije: “Déjame volver a ti con eso”.
They respected my honesty and calm.
Respetaron mi honestidad y mi calma.
In the end, they approved the plan.
Al final, aprobaron el plan.
I learned that preparation makes me confident.
