Following up on a meeting without sounding pushy – a reflection

Last week, I had a meeting with a client.

We talked about a new project they wanted.

I made a mistake in that meeting.

I said the project would take two weeks.

Later, I saw it would take four.

I needed to follow up without being pushy.

I wrote a short, honest email.

I said I had made an error.

I explained the new timeline clearly.

I added, 'Just floating this back to the top.'

I also said, 'No rush at all.'

They replied the same day.
