The alarm rings before the sun.
सूरज निकलने से पहले अलार्म बजता है।
This is the last day here.
यहाँ आखिरी दिन है।
The room looks like it did on day one.
कमरा पहले दिन जैसा दिखता है।
But I am not the same person.
लेकिन मैं वही इंसान नहीं हूँ।
I fold shirts and think of streets.
कमीज़ें मोड़ते हुए गलियों के बारे में सोचता हूँ।
Those streets are now part of me.
वो गलियाँ अब मेरा हिस्सा हैं।
I open my laptop to write an email.
ईमेल लिखने के लिए लैपटॉप खोलता हूँ।
It says: I am coming home soon.
इसमें लिखा है: मैं जल्दी घर आ रहा हूँ।
The words feel heavy and light.
शब्द भारी और हल्के लगते हैं।
I press send and close the lid.
भेज दबाता हूँ और ढक्कन बंद करता हूँ।
Outside, the city wakes up slowly.
बाहर, शहर धीरे-धीरे जागता है।
I sit by the window one last time.
आखिरी बार खिड़की के पास बैठता हूँ।
