I found a problem in production.

First, I took a deep breath.

I wrote a short message to my team.

I said, 'Heads up — we have an issue with the payment system.'

Then I added, 'Here is what we know so far.'

I listed the facts without guessing.

I also said, 'I am looking into it now.'

That gave the team confidence.

People started helping without fear.

I felt proud of how I handled it.

Calm honesty works better than panic.
