I got my first paycheck yesterday.
Recibí mi primer cheque ayer.
It was not a lot of money.
No era mucho dinero.
But it felt like a small door opened.
Pero sentí que se abría una pequeña puerta.
I put half in my savings box.
Puse la mitad en mi caja de ahorros.
The other half bought a warm blanket.
La otra mitad compró una manta caliente.
Now I sleep better at night.
Ahora duermo mejor por la noche.
The blanket is soft and blue.
La manta es suave y azul.
I feel proud of that choice.
Me siento orgulloso de esa elección.
Maybe next month I will save more.
Quizás el próximo mes ahorre más.
But this blanket is my first reward.
Pero esta manta es mi primera recompensa.
It reminds me that I can work.
Me recuerda que puedo trabajar.
And I can take care of myself.
Y que puedo cuidar de mí mismo.
