I got my first paycheck today.
오늘 첫 월급을 받았어요.
The number felt real in my hand.
그 숫자가 손에 와닿았어요.
I stared at it for a long time.
오랫동안 그냥 쳐다봤어요.
I thought about all the hours I worked.
일한 모든 시간이 떠올랐어요.
I wanted to buy something nice.
뭔가 예쁜 걸 사고 싶었어요.
But I also wanted to save some.
하지만 저축도 하고 싶었어요.
I split it into three parts.
세 부분으로 나눴어요.
One for rent, one for food.
하나는 월세, 하나는 식비요.
The last part was for a gift.
마지막 부분은 선물용이었어요.
I bought my mom a warm scarf.
엄마에게 따뜻한 목도리를 샀어요.
Her smile was worth more than money.
그 미소는 돈보다 더 값졌어요.
That night I felt like a real adult.
그날 밤, 진짜 어른이 된 기분이었어요.
