Walking a new teammate through a feature

A new teammate asked about our main feature.

She looked confused at the dashboard.

I wanted to help without making her feel bad.

So I said, 'The easiest way to think about it…'

Then I explained how users interact with it.

I showed the steps one by one.

I said, 'So when a user does this, the system responds.'

She nodded and started to understand.

I used simple words, not technical terms.

I asked if she wanted to try it herself.

She said yes, and I watched gently.

Now she feels more confident about the feature.
