My boss asked if we could ship the software today.

Meu chefe perguntou se podíamos lançar o software hoje.

I felt nervous. I saw it a little differently.

Fiquei nervoso. Eu via de forma um pouco diferente.

I said I see it a little differently.

Eu disse: 'Vejo de forma um pouco diferente.'

Then I asked have we considered the risks?

Então perguntei: 'Consideramos os riscos?'

I explained the main bug was still there.

Expliquei que o principal bug ainda estava lá.

My boss listened. He said fair point, but we need to ship.

Meu chefe ouviu. Ele disse: 'Ponto justo, mas precisamos lançar.'

I was not sure that holds because the client would be angry.

Eu não tinha certeza se isso se sustenta porque o cliente ficaria bravo.

I said I am not sure that holds because of the client.

Eu disse: 'Não tenho certeza se isso se sustenta por causa do cliente.'

We talked more. We agreed to ship next week.

Conversamos mais. Concordamos em lançar na próxima semana.

I felt good. I used polite words.

Me senti bem. Usei palavras educadas.

Now I know how to disagree at work.

Agora sei como discordar no trabalho.

It is okay to push back with respect.

Tudo bem contestar com respeito.
