Watching the sunrise after a sleepless night

I did not sleep last night.

My mind was too full.

I watched the sky turn from black to grey.

Then the sun came up slowly.

It painted the clouds in pink and orange.

I felt so tired but also awake.

The world outside was very quiet.

Only birds and the wind made sounds.

I thought about the people I love.

Some are far away right now.

I wished they could see this sky with me.

But I am alone with this sunrise.
