How I handled a timing update with my manager

My manager asked for a status update on the report.

I said we are on track for Friday delivery.

Then I gave a quick heads-up about the data check.

I said: “Realistically that lands by Thursday afternoon.”

She nodded and seemed happy with the timeline.

I added: “I will keep you posted if anything changes.”

That gave her confidence I had it under control.

I learned to share timing early, not late.

It makes the whole conversation easier.

Now I always think about realistic deadlines first.
