I had to talk to a parent today.
今天我得和一位家长聊聊。
It was about their child's progress.
是关于他们孩子的进步情况。
I wanted to share both the good and the tricky.
我想把好的和难的地方都说到。
The child is bright and eager.
这孩子聪明又积极。
But he sometimes rushes his work.
但他有时做作业太急。
I started with a warm smile.
我先用微笑开场。
I said, "He has great ideas."
我说：“他想法很棒。”
Then I added, "At home, it might help to..."
然后我补充：“在家或许可以……”
I suggested slowing down together.
我建议一起慢下来。
The parent listened and nodded.
家长听着，点了点头。
I felt we were on the same team.
我感觉我们是一边的。
It was honest but kind.
既坦诚又友善。
