My First English Conversation with a Stranger

I remember my first time speaking English to a stranger.

It was at a bus stop in a rainy city.

An old lady asked me for directions.

My heart beat fast, but I tried.

I pointed and said simple words.

She smiled and said thank you.

That small success gave me courage.

Now I speak English more often.

Each conversation feels a little easier.

I still make mistakes, but that is okay.

The first step was the hardest.
