I remember Mrs. Gupta.
मुझे गुप्ता मैडम याद हैं।
She was my history teacher.
वह मेरी इतिहास की टीचर थीं।
She looked at my messy notebook.
उन्होंने मेरी बिखरी कॉपी देखी।
She said, 'You have a good mind.'
उन्होंने कहा, 'तुम्हारा दिमाग अच्छा है।'
I did not believe her then.
मुझे तब उन पर विश्वास नहीं हुआ।
But her words stayed with me.
लेकिन उनकी बात मेरे साथ रही।
Years later, I understand.
सालों बाद, मैं समझ गया हूँ।
She saw a future I could not see.
उन्होंने वह भविष्य देखा जो मैं नहीं देख पाया।
That hope changed my path.
उस उम्मीद ने मेरी राह बदल दी।
Now I try to see others that way.
अब मैं भी दूसरों को उसी नज़र से देखने की कोशिश करता हूँ।
